Global Banking & Finance (December 8, 2020) – Crow Holdings, the Dallas-based real estate investment and development firm, announced today that it is continuing its partnership with the Texas Trees Foundation and the City of Dallas by planting 50 trees at Dallas Walnut Hill Park on December 4.
This marks the second year in a row that Crow Holdings has provided financial resources and employee volunteers to plant trees in Dallas parks. Last year, more than 125 Crow Holdings employees planted 50 trees at Dallas Kidd Springs Park in Bishop Arts in support of the Branching Out initiative, a City of Dallas program to replace trees that were lost during severe weather last year.
We are delighted to continue our partnership with the City of Dallas and the Texas Trees Foundation, carrying forward a legacy of reforestation across America and creating positive change for our communities and the environment at large, said Michael Levy, CEO of Crow Holdings.
The destruction from last years tornado to the tree canopy transformed neighborhoods and parks, but not for the good. More than 700 mature trees were lost at Dallas city parks in 2019, and it would take 5,200 new trees to replace them. Thanks to Crow Holdings, we are 100 trees closer to reaching our goal, said Janette Monear, CEO at the Texas Trees Foundation. We are incredibly grateful to the Crow Holdings team for working with the City of Dallas and continuing to support this important cause. By replanting lost trees, we are promoting a greener, cleaner, cooler Dallas.
The partnership with Texas Trees and City of Dallas builds upon Crow Holdings longstanding commitment to tree planting, local conservation, beautification efforts, and supporting urban parks. Trammell Crow, the late founder of Crow Holdings, co-founded the Dallas Parks Foundation (now the Texas Trees Foundation) in 1982 and later served as the foundations Chairman. Mr. Crow also established the National Tree Trust and was appointed its Chairman by President George H.W. Bush in 1990.
Trammell Crows conservation legacy lives on today through Crow Holdings sponsorship of and company-wide participation in EarthX, the worlds largest Earth Day event, as well as the companys longstanding commitment to community involvement through its support of numerous national and local nonprofits across the country.
For the December 4 tree planting event, Crow Holdings worked closely with the City of Dallas to ensure that strict social distancing, sanitation and other Center for Disease Control protocols were followed.
