Estimator

Position Summary

The Estimator is responsible for providing cost estimates for TCR’s construction projects. The role involves:

  • Performing market research and developing knowledge of the local market
  • Preparing complete quantity take-offs, analysis, estimates, and studies for all items incorporated in the project scope
  • Reducing construction costs through value engineering
  • Performing constructability analysis
  • Preparing qualifications and assumptions for estimates
  • Managing the subcontractor solicitation and selection process
  • Reviewing subcontractor bids for completeness
  • Negotiating pricing with subcontractors
  • Assisting in producing and reviewing subcontracts and purchase orders

Desired Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, architecture, civil engineering or mechanical engineering; preferably two years of experience in an on-site role and a minimum of 5-10 years of diversified estimating construction experience
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel
  • Advanced knowledge of the following software: Revit, SketchUp and Bluebeam
  • Working knowledge of Timberline
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of design development and estimating
  • Strong relationship with subcontractors and suppliers in the Bay Area
