Accounting Application Specialist

Position Summary

The Accounting Application Specialist will facilitate trainings and support accounting software applications in the development companies (TCR, CHI and CHO). This individual will partner with business leaders and subject matter experts across the enterprise to ensure successful user application adoption, knowledge and defining of efficient business processes. This role can be based in either Boca Raton, FL or Dallas, TX.

Primary Responsibilites

  • Spearhead critical efforts around user support and application maintenance and training for accounting systems across the development companies
  • User support and application maintenance
    • Promote on-going awareness around adoption of critical tools, technologies, and best practices
    • Build and maintain relationships to understand business challenges around accounting applications
    • Participate in the research, design, development, testing, delivery and training of new as well as modified business processes, reports, tools and software
    • Create testing scripts and oversee end user testing of new systems, procedures or software upgrades
    • Maintain group of subject matter experts in the field to assist with communication to the divisions
    • Work with team members, subject matter experts, and/or third-party vendors to resolve questions and issues regarding accounting tools and processes, and identify areas for improved efficiency
    • Develop and maintain process change management and policy/procedure documentation
    • Track, schedule and maintain accounting software upgrades
    • Stay abreast of industry trends and innovation
  • Training
    • Design and implement training programs for accounting systems across the development companies using various mediums including but not limited to training manuals, videos, PowerPoints and Microsoft Teams demonstrations
    • Perform in-person training and remote learning
    • Partner with leadership to provide comprehensive training programs for application systems and business processes for accounting
    • Participate in application systems projects as a subject matter expert, tester, and/or trainer
    • Coordinate on-boarding as well as ongoing training for employees; track for completion and mastery
    • Develop and provide training for external partners as necessary for critical technologies and processes
    • Maintain up to date training materials as system enhancements and new functionality are released

Desired Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Real Estate construction and/or development experience required
  • Yardi construction or investment management experience required
  • Sage 300 and Procore experience preferred
  • Demonstrated interest and aptitude for training design and delivery, mentorship and coaching
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and establish relationships across all levels and divisions within the organization
