Position Summary


Crow Holdings seeks a Managing Director of Renewables Development to help lead the firm’s entry into the Renewable Energy business. This initially will likely include a combination of Solar (Utility-Scale, C&I and/or Community Solar) and Battery Storage, depending on the candidate’s or team’s core expertise and expanding into other market segments over time. The ideal candidate will have regional or national development expertise. We expect to begin the Renewables effort in 2-3 select markets. Crow Holdings has offices located around the country, so location is flexible for the right candidate.

Primary Responsibilities


  • Create and help recruit a team to execute a Renewables development strategy
  • Manage and execute the development of complex large-scale renewable energy projects from initial project proposal and siting, through to site control, permitting, design, interconnection, approval, contracting, title curative, and financing. Projects will either be sold at NTP or constructed
  • Identify and structure joint development agreements, development services agreements, and pipeline agreements to support strategy
  • Maintain industry relationships/contacts and current knowledge of market drivers and industry trends to facilitate proactive development posture and early-mover positioning as opportunities materialize

Desired Skills & Experience


  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • 10+ years of experience in the renewable energy industry in the U.S., with direct experience in full life-cycle development of Solar projects (Utility Scale, C&I and/or Community Solar); Battery Storage experience a plus
  • Must have prior professional renewable energy project development experience across project siting, land and real estate, regulatory and environmental permitting, policy interconnection, and transmission and power marketing
  • Must have experience with engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) engagement, equipment procurement and have been through one or more successful project financing processes
  • A strong network of third-party development experts (including real estate, permitting, environmental and interconnection experts)
