Position Summary
The Development Analyst is responsible for researching information for the development team for the pursuit of new development. This position will conduct numerous analyses of current market demographics; current rents; analysis of developmental sites in similar geographical areas; and other environmental and specification analysis. This position is also responsible for various assignments on projects under construction.
Primary Responsibilities
- Researches and compiles information for the development team for the pursuit of new development business, including research, market analysis, and preliminary due diligence
- Communicates with brokers, land owners, county officials or other jurisdictional offices to gain information regarding potential new development sites
- Submits data and research information for preliminary due diligence including soft cost research, preliminary environmental analysis, preliminary specification analysis, market analysis, financial feasibility, and presentations
- Researches zoning and master plan information, new development pipeline, transportation improvement plans, and building and permit codes and fees
- Conducts comparative analysis to determine competitive rent rates, demographic analysis, and competitive amenities offered in development area
- Analyzes retail, educational and transportation proximity to planned development sites
- Participates in Company-provided training such as safety, non-discrimination, information systems, and harassment prevention
- Complies with all Company National Standards, applicable health and safety rules and regulations, as well as applicable local, state, and federal laws
Desired Skills & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Management or related real estate field is required for this position
- Minimum of one to three years in a real estate or construction related field
- Multi-Family real estate experience a plus
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint to prepare in-depth data analysis and research analysis
- Knowledge of federal, state and local codes for Handicap, Fair Housing, ANSI, Waterproof, Environment/AQI
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills; ability to relate to others
- Professional verbal and written communication skills
